Charles L. Freeman, Sr.
Founder/Owner
Charles Freeman founded Freeman Commercial Real Estate back 1985, but his experience in real estate goes all the way back to 1972. His goal was to build a firm with well-qualified brokers of the highest integrity and unparalleled area knowledge in order to provide extraordinary value to clients. Along the way, he has applied his leadership to many different organization boards in the Triad area and beyond, including holding every office in the Winston Salem Board of Realtors Commercial Alliance, as well as member and president of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors. He also served as chairman of the Economic Vitality and Environmental Quality Focus Group for the City of Winston-Salem’s “Legacy” project, a comprehensive plan for guiding the future growth and development of our community.
With degrees from Brevard College and Virginia Commonwealth, Charles is also a graduate of the Realtor Institute. He was raised just down the road in Raleigh, North Carolina, but considers the Triad his hometown. He and his wife, Dorothy, enjoy every opportunity to spend time with their two children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. When he has time, Charles loves to play tennis, racquetball and golf.
Ladd Freeman

His experience runs the gamut of buying, selling, leasing and developing properties. Over the years, Ladd has held positions in several industry organizations, including terms as president of the Realtors Commercial Alliance of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors, RCA board member for the North Carolina Board of Realtors, and memberships in the International Council of Shopping Centers and the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
Ladd has called Winston-Salem his home for more the half a century. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, he earned his Bachelor’s degree at Western Carolina University. Ladd has his pilot’s license and enjoys golf and fishing. He and his wife, Janet, married in 1979 and have three children and two amazing grandchildren. When not working, flying or spending time with their children and grandchildren, Ladd and Janet are particularly fond of dining out at Brixx Pizza and Firebirds near his office, or visiting Carolina Vineyards.
Jay Luke

Over his more than quarter-century of experience, he has built a reputation as a problem solver and a tireless advocate for his clients’ interests in property assemblage for retail and industrial projects. He is an active member of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
In the community, Jay serves on the local boards for the YMCA and First Citizens Bank Winston-Salem Local Board. Originally from Waverly, Virginia, he graduated from Elon University. He and his wife, Vickie, have three adult children. In addition to enjoying fishing, bowling and golf, Jay is a Kansas City Barbeque Society competition BBQ pit master. When he is not busy perfecting his barbeque skills, Jay and Vickie enjoy grabbing a bite to eat at their favorite local spot, the Quiet Pint.
Bob Anderson

He works with retailers and developers on site selection and acquisition, bringing a keen ability to understand client objectives, communicate effectively with all parties, and navigate development and rezoning processes. Bob has been serving Freeman Commercial Real Estate clients for more than 15 years. He has been a longtime member of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
A graduate of Marshall University, Bob grew up in Winston-Salem but was born in Nebraska, which explains the Anderson clan’s support of the Cornhuskers. Bob and his wife Cindy enjoy spending time at home on the old family farm and visits from their 4 grown children and wonderful granddaughter.
Abner Wright

His skillful representation has earned him recognition as a CoStar Power Broker.
Originally from Florida, Abner came to the area in 1975 to attend Wake Forest University. He has been active in the community on boards for various organizations, including the Realtor Commercial Alliance and Calvary Baptist Day School. A licensed pilot and sailing instructor, Abner and his wife, Troy Lee, enjoy spending time at Lake Norman, especially with their two children, four grandchildren and their spaniel, Skipper.

Born and raised in Winston-Salem, Charlie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He enjoys the plentiful golf courses around the Triad, along with the region’s booming craft breweries, restaurants and live music venues. He and his wife, Kaitlyn, their son and their dog, Brody, also love returning to the Carolina coast as much as possible.

Will graduated from The University of Alabama, where he studied marketing and real estate. Following his time in Tuscaloosa, Will moved back to the Triad that he knows and loves so much. He continues to pursue his interest in the commercial sector with Freeman Commercial Real Estate. In his free time Will enjoys playing golf, fly fishing, and traveling with his dog, Dixie. Elizabeth Buchanan

She joined the firm in 2018 after 11 years in education, bringing energy and attention to detail within office and marketing management at Freeman.
A Winston-Salem native, she holds degrees from Elon University and Indiana University. She returned to the Triad after 14 years in Southern Indiana. Elizabeth serves as Vice President of Forsyth Home Educators and is a passionate supporter of the homeschool community. Above all she enjoys staying busy with her husband, Shawn; two children, Sawyer and Molly; and their menagerie of pets, including three dogs, one cat, and a guinea pig.
